Rhomberg as an employer
Why join Rhomberg?
Because every single employee counts! We cultivate a direct and open work culture and use first names across all levels. This ensures simple and straightforward communication — truly at eye level. We place great importance on regular coordination in all areas, from market-specific jour fixes to team meetings and team-building activities. We maintain an open error culture because we recognise that mistakes are human. This approach enables us to find solutions quickly as a team and to learn from them.
We live sustainability and expect our employees to bring passion and curiosity for innovative, sustainable concepts and solutions.
Innovation
We are always looking for ideas that are more than just sparks of inspiration. Our ideas — whether small improvements to what already exists or groundbreaking innovations — can all be implemented, and they work. That is what turns an idea into true innovation.

Sustainability
We like to think big when it comes to sustainability. We aim to develop our products and projects in a way that eliminates the need for later “improvements” in terms of energy efficiency, resource use and social impact. In other words, we want one thing above all: to develop truly good, forward-thinking sustainable ideas from the start.

Training Opportunities & Knowledge Management
Continuous learning and personal development are at the heart of our employee experience. We offer a wide range of opportunities to expand knowledge and skills. Our employees benefit from high-quality seminars, workshops and lectures delivered by internal and external experts. We also offer a bespoke leadership programme designed to strengthen and develop leadership skills.
In addition, we provide a variety of on-demand e-learning materials and access to a library with regularly updated professional literature and inspiring podcasts in German and English. All knowledge resources are digitally accessible via our SharePoint platform “RHome”. Our experienced “RHome Community” is available for questions and support regarding collaboration. We invest in the personal and professional development of our employees so they can reach their full potential. Welcome to a world full of opportunities!
Health Management
At Rhomberg Bau, we place the utmost importance on employee health. We actively promote and support healthy lifestyles.
Our long-standing company doctor provides consultations and various examinations (e.g., health checks). Ergonomic workstations encourage healthy posture. We offer diverse fitness classes and discounted access to a nearby gym at our Bregenz location. A physiotherapeutic health check-up complements the programme. To promote healthy eating, we offer a meal subsidy, cooking evenings and — of course — a classic fruit basket with free apples.
For mental health, employees have access to training opportunities and coaching sessions. A discounted group health insurance plan rounds off our offer, which we continuously optimise and expand.
Corporate Mobility Management
We want to reflect our ecological responsibility and sustainability mindset in our mobility behaviour as well. That is why we aim to reduce the traffic we generate — including both business travel and commuting.
Our current mobility initiatives include:
- EcoPoints mobility campaign (reward system) and Mobility Breakfast (annual appreciation event)
- Free job ticket for public transport
- Company bike leasing
- Showers and changing facilities
- Home office as part of sustainable employee mobility
- Vehicle pool with the option for private use
Future Room – A Space for Connection and Exchange
In the Future Room, our employees are at the centre. Here, you can actively contribute your topics and exchange ideas on exciting projects.
The Future Room is accessible to all employees at any time. It supports workshops, meetings, regular desk work (sitting or standing), presentations, lunch or coffee breaks — thanks to modular table setups that allow maximum flexibility. Spontaneous creative sessions are encouraged with plenty of workshop materials available. Smart acoustic partitions enable optional room zoning.
The Future Room is not only a highly flexible space — it also hosts inspiring formats such as the monthly “Coworking Thursday.” Under the motto “work & connect,” employees come together to collaborate.
This open encounter zone fosters networking and serves as a vibrant space for sustainable ideas and meaningful exchanges.
Diversity & Family Friendliness
We promote diversity and family friendliness because these values are essential to us. Our goal is to create an environment where every employee feels valued — regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic background, nationality, religion, worldview, social background or physical or mental abilities. We believe in equal opportunities and fairness for all.
Because all our employees are equally important, we address their needs individually and flexibly. We create a workplace where professional and private life can be harmonised and where a positive and supportive atmosphere prevails.
We offer flexible working models such as home office and reduced working hours. This benefits not only parents but also those who need time for caregiving responsibilities, further education or personal challenges. We support parents with childcare subsidies and promote job-sharing to ease the return after parental leave. Part-time work for mothers and fathers is actively encouraged. Employees aged 55+ receive an additional week of holiday to recognise their expertise and contribution. We also offer partial retirement options. For employees with physical limitations, we create customised workplaces that meet their needs.
Through the renovation of a bush hospital in Malawi — our in-house “Malawi Project” — and cooperation with the Austrian organisation “Sindbad – Social Business,” we have taken our first steps into corporate volunteering. Our employees truly become creators of positive change.
Digital Culture
As a modern and innovative construction company, digitalisation plays a central role for us. We rely on digital, standardised processes from recruiting to onboarding. These processes are continuously developed and, together with our cloud-based collaboration platform “RHome,” form the foundation of everyday work.
Regular jour fixes and events — such as our “Demodays” — take place in hybrid formats, enabling employees to participate in person or digitally via livestream and replay. Even our weekly get-togethers are attended by colleagues both on-site and working from home. This digital culture enables structured, efficient collaboration across locations, departments and teams. It is also key to maintaining a paperless organisation — fully aligned with our sustainability ambitions.
